Student Design Competition
Encouraging the Next Generation of Engineers to Innovate
The Subsea Tieback Forum & Exhibition Student Design Competition challenges the next generation of engineers to push their innovation and creativity as they compete for the best design while gaining practice and practical experience in presenting their ideas/solutions.
Engineering students from different universities are encouraged to apply. Students will work in teams of 3 to 5, to provide solution concepts to real-world subsea industry issues and deliver a short presentation to a panel of industry experts.
Eligibility & Competition Details:
Eligibility:
- Students must be enrolled in an accredited engineering program
- Open to all graduate and undergraduate engineering students across any discipline
- Students must be an active participant and able to attend the entire program agenda February 27-29, 2024 in San Antonio, Texas
Competition Details:
- Up to 30 students will be accepted and placed into teams of 3-5
- Teams will work on the same design problem and propose a solution
- An industry Subject Matter Expert (SME) will partner and assist each team
- Each team prepares a presentation on their design solution
- Solutions will be presented to a panel of 3 to 6 judges
- Winning team(s) present at Subsea Tieback forum on Wednesday
