Katmai is a unique development which required creative solutions on both the technical and commercial fronts to bring to production. In an effort to honor budget and schedule constrains, an EPCI strategy was chosen to develop the 26-mile, single flowline tieback system for two planned high pressure oil wells. This presentation will provide an overview of the development, some of the challenges faced, considerations for taking the EPCI route with synergies afforded to the project team, and challenges along the way.
