Description

The Esox development was a subsea tie-back to the Tubular Bells field through an Intra-structure Lead Exploration (ILX) process whereby the first oil was achieved in 4-months from discovery. The ILX approach required integration of Exploration and Production groups (Exploration, Drilling & Completions, SURF, Operations, and Global Supply Chain) to expedite the exploration of the development, plan for the success case development, while allowing for exit options, thus minimizing the downside exposure. This presentation will cover the historic Hess process for tie-backs to existing infrastructure as compared to the ILX approach that allowed the expedited 1st oil.
