STUDENT EXPERIENCE

Encouraging the Next Generation of Engineers to Innovate

The Student Design Competition was formed 2019 as part of Subsea Tieback Forum & Exhibition (SSTB) to challenge the next generation of engineers to push their innovation and creativity as they compete for the best design while gaining practice and practical experience in presentation their ideas/solutions. 
Due to COVID-19 rescheduling of the event date, we will resume the competition at the 2022 event. This year engineering students from different universities are invited to participate in the Subsea Tieback Student Experience, a one-day career development program that will expose students to real world subsea industry issues and they will have the opportunity to visit with industry subject matter experts.

Eligibility Details:

  • Eligibility:

    • Student must be enrolled in any accredited university with a 2–4-year engineering program.

    • Open to all graduate and undergraduate engineering students across any discipline. Student must be an active participant and able to attend the entire program agenda. 

  • Supporting Documentation:

    • ​​​​​​​Student will be required to submit 500-word summary about their experience and learnings from the Student Experience to be eligible for travel stipend and the opportunity to apply to the 2022 Student Design Competition in March 2022. .

*Under this program, the Subsea Tieback Foundation will provide a travel stipend or mileage reimbursement to students to partially offset costs associated with travel to Moody Gardens Convention Center in Galveston, Texas.
