Bio
Having obtained his degree in Mechanical Engineering from Memorial University of Newfoundland (Canada) in 2002, Daniel began his career working in the oil sector in Houston, Texas, working for offshore pipelay contractors. After six years in offshore pipelay in various roles (field engineer, project engineer, estimating manager) throughout the world (Nigeria, Malaysia, Israel), he refocused on deepwater installations and subsea technologies, working as a consultant for independent Oil & Gas operators exclusively in the Gulf of Mexico.

Upon joining Total in 2012, Daniel was seconded to R&D, responsible for the Asset Integrity Project as well as the UFR subjects within the Deep Offshore Development Project in Pau, France.

Daniel was then seconded to Total Upstream Nigeria Ltd. in 2016, wherein apart from managing the OIMR vessel activities and the affiliate’s subsea well tie-ins for both AKPO and Egina, he oversaw the execution of the “AKPO Flex Joint Repairs” and “Gas Export Line ITA Hydrate Remediation” mini-projects.

Since 2018, he returned to R&D within TEP R&T USA as Deep Offshore Manager.

Daniel joined Total in 2012 within R&D in Pau, France, responsible for the Asset Integrity Project as well as SURF subjects within the Deep Offshore Program. He was seconded to Total Upstream Nigeria Ltd. in 2016 as Subsea Manager in Deepwater Engineering, Construction and Projects, managing all OIMR vessel activities in the Akpo and Egina fields: subsea well tie-ins, drilling support and field operations support. In 2018, he returned to R&D in Houston as Manager, Deep Offshore. Daniel holds a BE in Mechanical Engineering from Memorial University of Newfoundland, and has 18 years of experience in oil and gas. Prior to Total, he has worked both for pipelay contractors and as a subsea consultant on projects throughout the world (West Africa, Southeast Asia, Middle East, GoM).
