Don Wells graduated from Texas A&M with a BS in Mechanical Engineering in 1979.
He retired as a Sr. Subsea Engineering Advisor from Hess Corporation's Developments organization. Prior to joining Hess, he worked for ConocoPhillips for 27 years where he held Engineering & Management positions on numerous subsea development projects around the world.
He has been active in numerous industry organizations including API, ASME, SUT, and Spindletop International.
As much as he is proud of his success as an Engineer and Project Manager, his passion has been education and working with the youth.
He has served as a member the advisory board of the Subsea Engineering program at the University of Houston and continues his role at Texas A&M University.
He is founder and Chairman of the Subsea Tieback Foundation whose mission is to introduce students, parents, and educators to the opportunities in the offshore and subsea industry. For the past 16 years they have provided scholarships, funded projects, sponsored learning opportunities and made presentations to thousands of students in several states.
