The King’s Quay facility is located in Green Canyon Block 433, with the Samurai, Khaleesi, and Mormont fields tying back to the facility. During the subsea equipment installation phase, a wellhead in one of the fields was cleaned and inspected and found to have sustained significant damage in multiple critical areas. This presentation will highlight the technology and engineering used to marinize this surface wellhead repair equipment and repair these critical sealing surfaces at 3,800 feet below sea level.
