Cort Prois currently holds the title of Facilities Engineering Manager – GOM Facilities and Construction Commissioning Projects for Occidental Petroleum Corporation located in The Woodlands, TX. Cort started working offshore/subsea in 1998 by installing shallow water flowlines for Marathon Oil off the coast of Gabon, West Africa. After two shallow water projects he spent a year as an offshore drilling/completions supervisor for Marathon Oil in the Gulf of Mexico. Cort’s first deepwater role was as a subsea engineer for Shell in 2002 that brought him to Nigeria and Malaysia supporting Shell’s greenfield projects in those locations. Cort moved on to become a subsea team lead for Shell in 2012 and later reprised that role for Freeport McMoRan Oil & Gas starting in 2014. After Anadarko acquired the Freeport McMoRan assets in 2017 Cort became the Area Asset Lead for the Eastern Gulf of Mexico and later a Project Manager after Occidental acquired Anadarko in 2019. Cort started his current role managing all subsea and topsides commissioning for the Gulf of Mexico in late 2022.
