Erin Balch is a Program Director with Wood and is responsible for a multi-disciplinary group that provides subsea and topsides engineering, equipment delivery management, installation/fabrication support and operations support for an operator with 10 active facilities in the Gulf of Mexico. She has over 22 years of experience in offshore drilling and production, holding a mix of technical and management positions. She spent 14 years in the Wood riser team where she ultimately led the Riser Projects team and 5 years as a Subsea Program manager before moving into her current Program Director role. Erin has extensive knowledge of floating production and fixed production riser systems, most notably in flexible pipe technology where she gained vast amounts of experience in the design, qualification and manufacturing of dynamic flexible pipe for high pressure applications. Erin also has extensive experience in supporting the design, delivery and operations of subsea tie-back systems. She has a Bachelor of Science in Ocean Engineering from Texas A&M University, is a registered Professional Engineer in the state of Texas and has co-authored numerous industry publications.
