Description

Gamma tomography technology has been applied in surface applications for many years but is now readily available to assess subsea piping systems.  Subsea gamma tomography is an enabling technology to diagnosis critical subsea integrity management and flow assurance issues. The technology is impactful in areas from precise measurement of wall thickness for corrosion or erosion management to assessing the extent and nature of flow assurance issues such as asphaltene, scale, or hydrate blockages. The presentation will provide an overview of how the technology works, how it is deployed subsea, the types of issues it can address, and the qualification process and results from a deployment for the detection and measurement of wax in a gas system.
