Bio
Arun Selvaraj joined Shell as a research engineer in the fluid flow and reactor engineering group based at the Shell Technology Center, Houston, USA in 2014. He is currently a research engineer in the offshore engineering group. In the past, he applied his expertise in experimental and computational multiphase flow, heat transfer and erosion to provide advanced technical support to deepwater assets such as Gumusut-Kakap, Perdido, and Malikai. He also led the development and deployment of Lagrangian Autonomous Sensors, a low-cost pipeline monitoring technology in onshore pipelines in US and Nigeria. In his current role, he is part of a team involved in the assessment and development of technology options for long subsea oil tiebacks. Arun holds a bachelor’s and a PhD degree in mechanical engineering from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, India, and Purdue University, USA, respectively.
